Pyramids are 3D shapes named according to the shape of their bases.
The faces of the pyramid are triangles and they slope up to a point.

Skeletons of various pyramids can be made by using toothpicks and plasticine, straws and plasticine, straws with pipe cleaners as hinges, pipe cleaners and soft wire.
 

Pyramids are the strongest 3D structure.
